Self-Introduction — HILD 12

Hi everyone,

My name is Art Marquez, and my preferred pronouns are he/him/his. I’m a third year Ecology, Behavior, and Evolution major potentially minoring in Environmental Systems (but I’m still figuring out that part). I’m originally from Los Angeles county, specifically from a city called Whittier not too far from LA. I’m currently living in an apartment near UCSD, and I just started working at a lab on campus. In my free time, I like playing video games and watching movies with my girlfriend and my other housemates. I recently picked up the infamously glitchy Cyberpunk 2077, which is very fun to laugh at as a group.

I got my start in HILD as a GE sequence with HILD 11 back in WI20, the last in-person quarter before the pandemic got really bad. Of the GE’s I was able to take, East Asian history has been one of my favorites, as it’s something I didn’t get to learn very much about back in high school. I’m looking forward to working with you all this quarter! Here’s a motivational picture of my cat, Darwin.
